Tom O’Connell has been a head coach for over 30 years and is in the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame. He began his career at Braintree High School (MA) from 1964-71, and spent ten years at Brandeis University in Boston before moving to Princeton, where he coached from 1982-1997. During his career, Coach O’Connell amassed over 495 victories at the collegiate level and produced many professional players. His teams were NCAA regionalists nine times, and his 1977 Brandeis team lost in the final of the Division III World Series. O’Connell is also the founder of the renowned Princeton University/Babe Ruth Baseball Camp and Clinic. Prior to that, he was the Director of the Ted Williams Baseball Camp for 13 years. He retired after 18 years from Princeton with a total of 25 years in college coaching. O’Connell also spent time with the Hyannis Mets in the Cape Cod League and is one of the founding fathers of our very own MBCA. We are proud and honored to have him come back and speak to our association about “Pitching Mechanics and Delivery.”
