Joseph Campagna
Class of 2015
Brookline High School
Since 1993, Joe Campagna has been a fixture in the Brookline High School dugout leading the Warriors to over 250 victories during this time. His distinguished coaching record is dotted with 14 MIAA Tournament appearances, five Carey Division championships, a Catholic Suburban League title while head coach at Trinity High School and a Bay State Conference Championship. His team’s success led to Joe garnering conference “Coach of the Year” recognition in 2004. Coach Campagna also was selected the Boston Globe Division I “Coach of the Year” in 1996. Beyond these achievements, a Campagna led team also holds the Brookline High record for most victories in a season with 19. No doubt Coach Campagna has enjoyed success on the field but he has served as a positive role model in many areas of his community. Certainly his experience as a military veteran has impacted Joe and enabled him to share many life lessons with the young adults he has come in contact with in his role as coach and assistant Athletic Director. Coaching colleague and rival Joe Siciliano, a Hall of Fame member himself, says of Joe “that his leadership and teaching expertise is second to none when it comes to instilling the ‘right way’ to play the game.” Coach Siciliano goes on to say, “a generation of Brookline youth have been extremely fortunate to have Joe Campagna as a coach, mentor, and sterling example of a caring adult.” It is for all of these reasons that the MBCA welcomes Joe as a member of its Hall of Fame.
