Joseph Siciliano

Class of 2013

Newton North High School

In his 26 years as head coach of the Newton North’s varsity baseball program Joe’s teams have amassed 272 victories. During his tenure the Tigers have made it to the MIAA state tournament 14 times and have captured the Bay State Conference championship twice. While maintaining a better than .500 winning percentage throughout his career, Joe has earned this honor for more than just his coaching record.

Coach Siciliano has been a respected member of the Newton High faculty for nearly three decades and is well known for his volunteer service to his community. In nominating Joe for this Hall of Fame distinction, fellow Hall of Famer and teaching colleague, Ed Fraktman, captured what student-athletes and much of the city of Newton knows to be true of Joe. “Over a long period of time he has helped young people, athletes and non-athletes, become better students, and most importantly better human beings.”
