Neil Burke

Class of 2011

Algonquin Regional High School, 1984 – 2013

Neil has been coaching baseball for 29, years 23 of those years as the head coach at Algonquin High. During that time his teams have won 10 league championships, 6 Midwach B and 4 Midwach A titles. Four district titles in 1988, 1998, 2006, 2007, two state finalists in 1998 and 2007 and one state championship in 2006 are part of his team’s accomplishments. His varsity record while at Algonquin includes 323 wins 182 losses for a 640 percentage. Algonquin, under Coach Burke has qualified for the tournament 18 consecutive years. Neil was selected as the Metro West News Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2006. He is a member of the MBCA 300 Victory Club.

Neil is a long time valued member of the Executive Board of the MBCA as a Central Mass representative and has recently become writer and producer of the MBCA newsletter.

Neil has been characterized as organized, remarkably enthusiastic and extremely competent. In his quite way he has developed an excellent rapport with his players and coaches. The Algonquin community, players, coaches, AD, and staff are pleased and proud to see Neil receive this recognition.
