Michael Ward

Salem State University

Michael Ward just completed his first season as head coach at Salem State. From 2003 to 2008, Michael was the head varsity baseball coach at Salem High (MA) where his teams captured three Northeastern Conference division championships and regularly qualified for the State Division 1 Tournament. Michael was selected as the Northeastern Conference Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2008 and was selected to coach the East Mass All-Star team and Agannis and Northeastern Conference All-Star teams on two occasions. A graduate from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990, Michael played second base and shortstop for the Jumbos from 1987 to 1990. Michael played on Tufts teams that won the ECAC New England championship in 1989 and finished as ECAC runner-up during two other seasons (1988 and 1990). The MBCA is pleased to have a local talent like Coach Ward speak to our association about “Indoor Practice Organization.”
