Class of 2010

Gardner / Ayer High Schools, 1975 – 2007

Gregg Picucci has been coaching high school baseball for the past 28 years. Most recently he has been the
coach at Gardner High School. He also served as Varsity Baseball Coach at Ayer, Groton, and Murdock High
Schools. Gregg’s coaching record is closing in on 300 wins. His teams have won 2 league titles and over all his
teams have qualified for the district tournament 15 times.

Over 100 of Gregg’s baseball players have gone on to play college baseball at various levels and two have signed
professional contracts. His coaching forte is his ability to instill in his players the competitiveness and the drive that he had as a player.
He has earned the respect of his fellow coaches, players, and umpires for his outstanding work ethic and sportsmanship. Three times his teams have received sportsmanship awards issued by the Mid-Wach B and C Leagues.

Gregg was an outstanding three-sport athlete at Leominster High School excelling as a shortstop on the baseball ream, quarterback on the football team and a point-guard on the basketball team. Coach Johnson says Gregg was the finest defensive shortstop he has ever coached. Gregg was inducted into the Leominster American Legion Hall of Fame in 1998. He had an outstanding career at Fitchburg State College and remains active as a player in the over 50-baseball league.
