Patrick Cronin
Class of 2013
East Bridgewater High School
In his 32 years of piloting the varsity baseball squad at East Bridgewater High School, the Vikings have piled up 367 victories. Coach Cronin’s clubs won the South Shore League Championship in 1984 and 2007, a season in which Pat was named “Coach of the Year” by the Brockton Enterprise. As for MIAA State tournament action, the Vikings captured the Division 2, South Sectional Championship in 1993 and went on to capture the Eastern Massachusetts Championship as well. Last season, 2012, East Bridgewater repeated as South Sectional Champs, this time at the Division 3 level.
A master at teaching the fundamentals of the game, coach Cronin’s teams have qualified for post season play 22 times. From his schoolboy playing days where he starred at Whitman High, through his 8 year apprenticeship as an assistant varsity and junior varsity coach, Pat has retained his enthusiasm for the game and has managed to pass it on to each one of his teams. His place among this distinctive group of coaches is certainly a well-earned honor.
