History & Mission

In 1968, two close friends and rival coaches, MBCA ‘founding fathers’ Howard Ferguson and Thomas O’Connell, had a  unique vision to bring together baseball coaches from across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. What started with just two men has blossomed into an impressive organization of over 700 high school, college, and youth league coaches.

The MBCA’s mission is to promote high school baseball and academics, to foster the highest level of professionalism and ethics among its members, to recognize excellence, and to maintain strong contacts with national, state, and local baseball organizations.
